A Strong State Needs a Strong Voice -- Yours! Every day, through laws, regulations, and court rulings, our state and federal elected officials make decisions impacting New Mexico companies’ ability to survive and compete in the global marketplace. Our State Legislature has now adjourned. Hundreds of bills died on adjournment, but many others have been sent to the governor for his consideration. To find out how your legislator voted, click on 'How They Voted' on the left bar. These potential new laws directly impact you -- your job, your wages, your family -- and your future. It's About Jobs! When New Mexicans are informed, we support actions that improve our economy and foster new opportunities. Use this site to keep informed on the jobs issues that concern you most. As Congress takes action in the coming weeks and months, we'll tell you how they're doing – and how you can express your views. The nonpartisan New Mexico Prosperity Project is a New Mexico corporation in partnership with New Mexico's leading companies, local chambers of commerce and trade associations. State Issues Critical to New Mexico's Economy Whether you are an employee, an employer, or a retiree, each of us has a vested interest in the work of Congress and our legislature to keep our nation and our state competitive in the global marketplace. New Mexico needs pro-economy, pro-jobs decisions in Santa Fe and Washington, DC that foster growth in our state's economy. The Prosperity Project is nonpartisan. We never endorse candidates. We never tell you how to vote. That important decision is up to you. Where do YOUR representatives stand on economic issues? To find your representatives in Congress and State Legislature, go to 'Who Represents You?' You may be asked to provide your address if your district goes beyond zip code boundaries. To view all New Mexico elected officials, do not enter your zip code – simply scroll to New Mexico and click “Submit.” New Mexico’s Election Education Headquarters Many New Mexico communities will hold local elections in 2009. They will elect mayors, city council members and representatives to county commissions. The New Mexico Prosperity Project is a great election resource to help you get ready for those elections:
